A New Lens on Aging

A New Lens on Aging is a photo campaign designed to reduce the stigma around aging and change how people think and feel about getting older. We look for photo submissions from older adults and organizations that support older adults that highlight aging well in community across Nova Scotia.

This year, our theme is Connected Moments.

Strong connections and supportive communities play an important role in our overall wellness. Feeling connected helps reduce loneliness, supports mental health, and gives us a sense of belonging and purpose. Whether it's sharing a meal, helping a neighbour, or taking part in community activities and programs, these connections help us stay healthier, happier, and better able to face life's challenges together.
Show us photos of you:

  • Connecting with community

  • Connecting with another generation

  • Connecting with your culture

  • Connecting with nature

  • Connecting through celebrations

  • Connecting with friends, family and neighbours

  • Connecting through volunteering

  • Connecting through programs and classes

  • Connecting through recreation

Accepting photos from:

  • Individuals submitting photos of themselves or older adults they know.

  • Clubs, groups, and organizations that want to highlight older adults that participate or volunteer.

We use photos to show how older adults are active, engaged, and valued in community:

  • On our website and social media, especially during Seniors’ Week in October.

  • In promotional materials, including brochures.

Each submission gets an entry to win 1 of 4 $50 gift cards!
Winners will be selected at random.
